Suzanne, ‘Suzy’ Glowiak Hilton is a mom, engineer, and volunteer. Suzy and her late husband Steve were married for 35 years and have raised three children in Western Springs. She and her family have lived in the Western Suburbs for 25 years.

Suzy grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago where she graduated from Carl Sandburg High School. She continued her education at the Illinois Institute of Technology, completing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Suzy went on to pursue a successful career in engineering consulting where she, through report writing and expert testimony, assists her clients in conflict resolution. Following her early professional success and after taking the time to care for a young family, Suzy obtained a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University in Manufacturing Engineering. Suzy now manages an engineering consulting firm located in Oakbrook, Illinois.

Community involvement and public service have always been priorities in Suzy’s life. When her children were young, she was an active school volunteer. She is a member of the First Congregational Church of Western Springs where she served on the Properties Committee and was a board member of the Women’s Society.

To give back to her community, Suzy served two terms on the Recreation Commission, which she chaired for two years. The residents of Western Springs recognized Suzy’s dedication to her community and elected her once in 2009 and then again in 2013 as Village Trustee.

During her tenure on the Western Springs Village Board, Suzy has been a voice for balanced budgets. While chairing the Public Works and Water Committee, she took major steps in improving the water quality with the construction of a new water purification plant. Suzy also served on the Planning and Zoning Committee and was the Chair of the General Government Committee.

Suzy hopes to use her proven skills as an empathetic leader, problem solver, and dedicated public servant to help fix the problems facing Springfield as the next State Senator of the 24th District.
